The supplies needed for making truffles are very few and most are just
suggestions.
Dipping fork - dipping forks have thin tines so that when dipping a
truffle, less chocolate adheres to the bottom of the candy. This
saves chocolate and creates a prettier finished product.
Double boiler - this is a wonderful tool for
melting chocolate. Because the chocolate is enclosed in the top
pan it will protect the chocolate from steam.
Foils and cups - Found at craft stores they
are a nice finishing touch to the truffles. Using different colors helps
to identify the flavors.
Melon baller - This tool helps in scooping
out even portions of chocolate. There are also cookie scoops that
are made in smaller sizes that can be used.
Scale - a great tool for measuring the
chocolate, especially when recycling leftovers.
Strainer - used to strain
the lumps out of cocoa powder giving a nicer coating to the truffle.
